Keyword Tracking Tips

One of the most useful Twitter features for a small business is the search. You can use search.twitter.com to find information on pretty much any subject while people are talking about it.

Tracking words specific to your brand or business can really benefit from this kind of monitoring. You will know instantly when a customer has a problem and can try to rectify it. This is also a great way to test the waters if you are thinking of carrying a new product or offering a service.

Below, I have two videos showing two different ways to search. The first will be via search.twitter.com and the second will use Tweetdeck.

One of the main differences you will see using search.twitter.com versus Tweetdeck is you cannot save your search. You can however get a more detailed search. Both have their place in gathering information so don’t discount one and solely use the other. Use all the tools available to you and you will be miles ahead of the rest.

Tweetdeck

As you can see, both options are pretty simple to use and have tons of potential.

How do these methods to track your brand different from what you use now?

  3. Very detailed tutorials. I’m a Tweetdeck user but haven’t use much of the hashtag search as indicated in the second video. It’s easy to overlook the little handy tip when we got overwhelmed with daily tasks. Tweeted and hopefully you’ll gain more visibility for this post. Good job, Trevor.
