How Long Are You Going To Watch?
Lately, I have read a lot about online marketing, interesting stuff I know. In all the articles and post and books, there are some common messages. Below are a few to get your brain juices flowing a little.
How long are you going to “test the waters”?
Waiting, watching and reading up for the right time to dive into the social media pool. There isn’t a better time than now. Get into a conversation, retweet someone.
There are many ways to get involved with sites like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Myspace, Linkdin… ALL of them need action.
Have you started gathering customer twitter user names in your CRM?
I watched a webinar a few months ago and one of the slides that really caught my attention and stuck with me said social site surpassed email as the preferred method of contact. People don’t want a phone call, they already have too much email. Why not send them your information to a place where they will actually read it and have a greater potential to share your message? This is a great way to offer information, discounts and breaking news.
Are you looking for your customers and what sites they use or are you assuming they all use Twitter and Facebook?
If you have site or blog or newsletter of some kind, send out a survey. something very simple survey asking what sites they frequent. Add the mainstream sites, but add in one or two you may not sure about.
It may come as a surprise to see you are barking up the wrong tree with your social media efforts.
Are people bookmarking your information?
Another good question to ask your subscribers is: What social bookmarking sites do you use?
Many of these sites exist, Stumbleupon, Reddit, Delicious, Digg, Mixx, Propeller and Mister Wong to name a few. These are places where people look for information by tags and even by a specific user.
Where I am going with these questions is, make sure you ask for information. People will either tell you or they won’t. Everything is more social and it people are glad to share information.
What questions do you have for me?
