Tweetdeck Basics
For those of you who are not avid users of Twitter tools, or really haven’t has the need for any “power user” kind of features, Tweetdeck can be a bit intimidating. Below are a couple quick videos to help you get acquainted with some of the features.
Overall the features are pretty similar to the Twitter site, just laid out a little better for someone using Twitter for more than telling their followers about their crappy coffee. In the videos below, I will show you a few of the basics to get you started.
In the videos you see below, you can click on the icon next to the Screener logo to watch them in a larger screen. You will probably need to do this to see what is going on and follow along.
(*Please leave a comment below bout the use of video. I am auditioning different screen capture programs, so things might change a little over the next few months.)
In the first video, I am going to go over the lay of the land covering briefly the buttons and what where things are located
In the second, I am going to show you how the columns work. The columns, as you will see, are where all the magic gets done. They allow you to sort, sift, filter and move things into an organized way that makes sense to you.
You can have quite a few columns, but I would recommend not having a ridiculous number of them. Use them for to track hashtags, people, topics and anything else you may need at the time. If you are starting a marketing campaign, this is a great way to track how many and who are retweeting your message.
How do you sort your columns?
