Let Your Tweeps Know What you Listen To
Are you one of those people who is always listening to something? Do you always have your iPod on you with a really eclectic mix of everything from the Eric Clapton to Jay-Z to an audiobook about marketing?
Okay, so everyone isn’t as big of a geek as I am, but I am sure some of you can relate (I hope).
One of the ways I like to share my favorite ear candy with apps like Last.fm, Blip.fm and Pandora.
Pandora
I use Pandora on my Blackberry all the time. I have a bunch of different channels set up. I can almost always find something to listen to. Since I have all of these stations honed to my moods and artists I just can’t live without, I was super excited to find a way to share these ear-gazmic tunes with my tweeps. The service I found is called Dora.fm.
Dora.fm posts look like this:

You are given space to describe the song, then Dora puts the title, artist and a link to Pandora so your friends can listen to a sample of the song.
Pandora recently added links to share your favorite songs on Facebook and Twitter right from the player window.

Last.fm
The service I use the most at home and while I’m at my desk at work is Last.fm. It has a lot of social features I like over other services. Here is a writeup I did a while back that will explain more.
A service called lastfm love tweet. The way it works is just like the name suggests. When listening to a song on Last.fm, you have the option to “Love” a song. When you”Love” a song, lastfm love tweet posts the title, artist two hashtags and a link to Last.fm.

One difference with the link is, on Last.fm’s site, you can listen to the whole song and in some cases there is a video too.

Twt.fm
This service is a little different from Pandora and Last.fm. With twt.fm, you just type in the artist name and song title.
A window will pop up and let you preview the track. If it is the right track, click the “Yes, Create it” tab.
The next window will show the information and link to the song. If you want to add anything else to the tweet, do it now.

Blip.fm
Blip.fm has similarities of twt.fm and Pandora, but adds the social aspect of Last.fm. To find a song, simply type in the artist and song title. The results are displayed with an option to preview each.

When you find the right song, click “Blip” to the left of the song title. Another window comes up to add in the words to your tweet. With this service, the artist and song title do not get added to the tweet; just the link does.

Similar to Last.fm, you can follow other Djs and listen to what they are Blipping.
How do you share your favorites?
